Once again, we took the fried chicken sandwich over the top! By adding our Ghost Pepper wing dust, we made this spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwich that will undoubtedly be crowned the BEST chicken sandwich on planet Earth. Here's how it's done.

You Will Need

The Prep

This recipe is a twist on one of our older ones - the "Buttermilk Fried Chicken". to get things started, about an hour before the cook, put the chicken breasts in a ziplock bag and add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, as well as buttermilk till they are completely soaking in it. Let the bags sit in the fridge until you're ready to cook!

It's gonna go fast from here on. Have your deep fryer running at 350ºF (177ºC). While it's heating up, prepare two containers for the dredge. For the dry dredge, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 Tbsp Dirty Bird, and 1/2 Tbsp Ghost Pepper rub. In the other, whisk 2 eggs.

The Cook

Time to make these chicken breasts swim! Drain the buttermilk, then throw them in the dredge in the following manner: dry first, then wet, then dry again - coating the entire breast each time. Then throw them into the fryer.

Fry until they start to float (or check internal temperature if you're not sure). Once they are ready, place on a paper towel to soak up some of the grease.

Now here's the most important part: hit the fried chicken with *just* enough Ghost Pepper rub to give them that kick that you will enjoy. For some of you, this might mean barely any rub at all, while we're certain some of you fire-breathing badasses will use up half the can. No wrong answers here! 

The Payoff

Only thing left to do is assemble the sandwich. 

Give your bread a quick toast, then throw down a little bit of lettuce on the bottom slice. Stack a few thin tomato slices, the fried chicken, and garnish with some chunky blue cheese dressing. Finally, thick cut dill pickles will seal the deal.
