Deep Fried Ribeye Steak & Ribeye Burnt Ends

Ever heard of deep fried ribeye steak? This is so good it’s almost illegal in 45 states! Watch us take it one step further, creating ribeye steak burnt ends - quite possibly a world first!

What you’ll need

The Premise

This recipe idea came from a comment on YouTube - someone asked “Have you ever thought about deep frying a ribeye?” Well, I had no idea that was even possible, so challenge accepted!

Here’s the plan: we’re deep frying two ribeye steaks. One of them is going in plain and will be seasoned with salt and pepper afterward. The other one will be seasoned withCow Cover Hot andTexas Beef before going in the deepfryer.

The Cook

First up, we’re filling up the fryer. Use peanut oil or canola oil - these are ideal since they have a high smoke point. Don’t use other vegetable oils, as they will smoke badly and ruin your food.

Fire up the fryer and let the oil come up to 350ºF (176ºC).

Next up, we’re throwing one of the steaks in plain, with no seasoning of any kind. Use a meat probe to monitor the internal temperature. When the steak hits 127ºF (53ºC), pull it out of the fryer. Season with salt & pepper.

For the other steak, we’re seasoning it first on both sides. Then throw it in the fryer and repeat the process, pulling it when it hits a core temperature of 127ºF (53ºC).

The Twist

Now, I could’ve just left it there, and enjoyed these deep fried ribeye steaks in all their crispy goodness. But what’s the fun in that? Time to introduce your next favorite thing: Ribeye steak burnt ends.

Slice the steak, and cube it up into little beefy bites. Place those into a bowl or roasting pan, hit them with moreCow Cover Hot andTexas Beef rub, and toss to coat. Now try one. Impressed yet?
