Homemade Buffalo Fried Chicken Dip Recipe

Jan 24th 2021

Whether it’s for the Holidays, game night, or any other get-together, this Buffalo chicken dip is bound to steal the show. Are you ready for this? Trick question, I KNOW you are!

What you’ll need

  • 1 lb fried chicken cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup Frank's Red Hot pepper sauce, or other Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • ½ cup blue cheese dressing
  • ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese, plus a little for the top
  • ½ cup Buffalo Hot Wing Dust

The Prep

Not much is needed in the way of preparation for this recipe. Wanna make it quick by using canned chicken? No problem. Do you have fried chicken left over from the day before? even better! Dice it into ½” inch cubes, and you’re already halfway there. We’re adding a TON of cheese to this (it’s a dip recipe after all), so it’s not rocket science.

Cheesing things up

Well once the chicken is diced up, it’s time to bring the cheese! Make sure the ingredients are room temperature, and that you are mixing in a large enough bowl.

Add the philadelphia cheese (don’t forget, room temp!), mix it up, then add the hot sauce, blue cheese dressing, shredded Pepper Jack cheese, and Buffalo wing dust. Mix it all up. If you are taking this to a superbowl night, save some shredded cheese to top it off at the end for the presentation.

Time to cook this sucker! Preheat your oven (or smoker!) to 400ºF, and cook the dip in an oven safe pan for about 20 minutes. The chicken is already cooked, so all we want to achieve is heat the mix up all the way through.

About 4 minutes shy of being done, add the shredded cheese on top to give it time to crisp up.

Serving the Buffalo Chicken Dip

Here’s a pro tip - bring this to any social gathering you’re invited to, and you’re guaranteed to be the talk of the night. Serve it warm, with something people can scoop up some buffalo chicken goodness with and you’ll be invited back faster than you can say “chicken dip”!

Well I hope you have fun with this - it’s definitely fun to make, and even more fun to eat. Peace!
