Big Freaking Breakfast Sandwich!

You'll find breakfast sandwich recipes out there, but none come close to this BIG freaking breakfast sandwich! Let this cheesy, flavor-packed mother-of-all-sandwiches start your day the way you deserve.

You Will Need

Ingredients 

  • Smoked Pastrami
  • Smoked Gouda Cheese (sliced)
  • ½ Yellow Onion
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • Egg
  • Jalapeno Cheese Bread from Crest
  • ½ cup Kewpie Mayo
  • ¼ Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ground Horseradish
  • 1 Tsp Worcheshire sauce
  • 1 Tsp Kosmo's Q SPG Rub
  • The Best Garlic Jalapeno Rub
  • Butter

Tools & Materials

  • Griddle
  • Spatula
  • Onion slicer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Cheese grater

The Prep

So, let's get started! Not much is needed in the way of prep work. Grate your cheese, slice your veggies, and cut the bread into 1 inch slices. Make sure you've got your tools ready at hand, start preheating the griddle, and you're ready to go!

The Cook

Start by getting your Okie-style Russian dressing mixed up. In a bowl, add the mayo, ketchup, horseradish, and SPG and mix it all up. Once fully incorporated, set it aside.

Next, get those onions and jalapenos on the grill with a little bit of butter. Once those are getting nice, throw on your pastrami and start heating it up.

Butter your bread slices and get those on the grill to give them a toast. Once onions and jalapenos are lightly charred and softened, scoot them to the side, to the cooler side of the griddle.

Then, crack open that egg, season with some SPG, and cook it up to your liking.

Once the meat is up to temp 165°F (74ºC), get some of the gouda on top and let it melt.

The Payoff

Let's start assembling this big freakin' breakfast sandwich! Place the meat with the melted cheese on the bottom piece of toast. Then place your onions and jalapenos on top of the meat, and add a dollop of the Okie-style dressing.

Slice in half and watch those melted cheese strings, or just dig right into it!
