How To Deep Fry a Turkey

How To Deep Fry a Turkey

Elevate your holiday feast with this mouth-watering Deep Fried Turkey recipe! Forget the ordinary roasted turkey - this year, we're bringing the heat and flavor.

You Will Need

The Prep

Start by thawing your turkey well in advance. This is crucial for ensuring a safe and even cook. Once your turkey is prepped, it's time to heat your oil to a sizzling 350°F. Clean and, if necessary, trim your turkey, then get ready to brine. Mix the Kosmos Q Turkey Brine as per the instructions on the bag - this step is key for infusing your bird with delicious flavors.

The Cook

Place your turkey in a brine bag, pour in the brine mix, and let it soak for at least 12 hours. After its brine bath, don't rinse it! Instead, pat it dry and let it rest for a bit. This process ensures that your turkey will not only be flavorful but also perfectly moist. Next, it's all about the rub. Cover your turkey generously with the Dirty Bird Rub, and let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Lower your seasoned turkey into the preheated oil and fry it for 3 to 5 minutes per pound. Keep an eye on the temperature, making sure the internal heat reaches a safe 165°F. Safety first!

The Payoff

Once your turkey is golden brown and cooked through, carefully lift it out of the oil and let it rest. This is when all those wonderful juices redistribute, making your turkey unbelievably moist.

Finally, it's time for the Cherry Apple Habanero BBQ Glaze. Pour it generously over your turkey, using the Kosmos Q Basting Brush for an even coat. This glaze will add a sweet, tangy, and spicy kick that's simply irresistible. Enjoy!
