Maple Soy Sauce Chicken Wings

Maple Soy Sauce Chicken Wings

Up your wing game with this maple soy sauce wings recipe! This is one of our favorites, and we're happy to share it with everyone.

You Will Need

  • For the Maple Soy Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup Maple brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
    • 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
    • 1 Tbsp Baking powder
    • 1 Tbsp Water
  • For the Wings

The Prep

Let's get the sauce out of the way first, since that's going to be the most time consuming part of the prep (5 whole minutes!). You could do this in advance, or you can do this while the grill is heating up.

In a pan, mix 1/2 cup of maple brown sugar with 1/2 cup soy sauce untill fully dissolved. Then add 1 Tbsp minced garlic, and bring the liquid to a boil. Immediately reduce temp to a simmerfor 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Finally, grab a cup and mix dissolve 1 Tbsp baking powder in 1 Tbsp water. Add this slurry to the simmering pan, and stir for 1 more minute. This should thicken your sauce. Let it cool down before saucing the wings.

The Cook

Moving on! Season your wings with Sweet Honey Pecan rub, or with your favorite spice blend. By now the cooker should be hot enough - put the wings on, and close the lid.

Depending on your cooking temp, the cook should take around 45 minutes. If you're making these on a barrel cooker, turn the rack every 15 minutes - alternatively, rotate the wings. Also flip the wings over at the 30 minute mark.

Cook the wings to a core temp of no less than 165ºF (74ºC). Then pull, and toss them in your home made maple soy sauce. Once fully coated, serve immediately for maximum enjoyment.
