Praline Bacon Pig Candy

Praline Bacon Pig Candy

If you thought that pig candy was addictive, wait until you hear about its evolved form: Praline bacon pig candy! For those of us with a sweet tooth who jump at any opportunity to use the grill/smoker, this is is the thing we didn't know we were missing.

You will need

The Prep

This recipe is a continuation of our original Billionaire's Bacon (pig candy) recipe. If you don't want the extra praline on yours, simply go to that recipe and follow it to completion.

In case you're still here, it is assumed that you followed the instructions, and just got the freshly smoked pig candy right of your pit! But instead of letting it cool down, you can add one last layer to this delicious snack.

The cook

Dust one side of each bacon slice with crushed pecans just after the last flip. Get your maple syrup, and baste the bacon right on top of the pecan to make it stick.

Finally, sprinkle each slice with a little of the Killer Bee Honey Rub (or any sweet BBQ rub you like).

Let the pig candy bake an extra three minutes, just so the syrup can set. Then carefully apply another layer of syrup on top of the pecans. Bake for another 3 minutes.

The Payoff

Remove the pig candy from the heat, flip each slice over and dust the other side with the remaining pecans. Let them sit at room temperature for five minutes.

Enjoy, then immediately start making more!
