Barbecue Surf And Turf | Shrimp & Steak

Barbecue Surf And Turf | Shrimp & Steak

This Surf & Turf recipe is the ultimate "get out of the dog house" guarantee. Let's cook up some shrimp and steak that will make your neighbors jealous!

You Will Need

The Prep

For quick cooks like this one, the first thing you want to do is light your pit. Fill it up, fire it up, and let it come up to temp at 265ºF (130ºC).

In the meantime, go ahead and prep the soon-to-be-cooked ingredients! Season the steaks liberally with whatever you enjoy eating - we used Cow Cover and SPG.

The Cook

Allow the steaks to come up to an internal temperature of 95ºF (35ºC). Once you hit that temp, pull them off the cooker.

Now crank it up all the way - time to get some hashmarks going! Sear each side for 90 seconds (or to your desired doneness) rotating half way. Once done, pull them off the heat, and lightly tent with foil.

While the steaks are resting, place a cast iron skillet on the grill, and melt the entire stick of garlic herb butter in it. Add the shrimp, and cook till they are nice and pink - simple as that!

The Payoff

As soon as the shrimp is ready, bring it inside and toss with some Lemon Pepper wing dust. You won't believe how good it makes seafood taste...

And now it's time for the best part: slice the steak, plate it with a side of grilled shrimp, and enjoy!
