Smoked Turkey Breast

Smoked Turkey Breast

Looking for a tasty and easy dinner idea that everyone will love? Look no further than this smoked turkey breast with a blend of savory rubs and a sweet, tangy glaze. Perfect for any occasion!

You Will Need

The Prep

Before getting started, make sure your turkey breast is completely thawed. Mix the turkey brine according to the instructions on the bag. Place the turkey breast in a large plastic bag and cover it with the brine mixture. Allow it to soak in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 4 hours prior to cooking. This will help to infuse the meat with flavor and keep it moist during the cooking process.

Next, preheat your smoker to 275-300°F (135-149°C). Once you're ready to cook, remove the turkey breast from the brine. Don't rinse it, as this will wash away some of the flavor. Instead, cover the turkey breast with Duke's mayonnaise and all three rubs (SPG, Garlic Jalapeno, and Dirty Bird) on all sides, including the crevices. Allow the turkey to sweat for 10-20 minutes.

The Cook

Place the turkey breast on the smoker and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). This should take about 2-3 hours depending on the size of the turkey breast. Be sure to check the temperature regularly using a meat thermometer.

Once the turkey breast has reached the target temp, remove it from the smoker and allow it to rest for 10-20 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute and make the meat even more tender and flavorful. If desired, you can pour a thick layer of your favorite BBQ glaze over the turkey breast - we tried with Cherry Apple Habanero glaze with great results! It adds a sweet and spicy flavor and gives the turkey a beautiful shiny look - you'll want to take a photo.

The Payoff

Slice the turkey breast and serve it hot with your favorite sides. The combination of the juicy turkey, flavorful rubs, and tangy glaze is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. You can also store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days and use them to make delicious sandwiches or salads. Enjoy!
