You know these Wagyu smash burgers will be PACKED with flavor - combined with the smashburger recipe we all know and love, it's bound to be a hit.
Now there are a couple of things that come with cooking wagyu. For one, they are full of good fat. What this means is that the usual fat/lean meat ratios that you see on ground beef packages don’t really apply here. They are going to taste phenomenal!
The other thing to keep in mind is that they are super flavorful even without any seasonings. If you want to add any, do so sparingly - you don’t want to drown out the Wagyu flavor!
So, let’s get started! Divide the ground meat into ¼ pound (110 gram) balls. Don’t form the patties or season them yet - that’s all happening right on the grill!
Fire up your flat top or griddle, and lay down some butter. Spread some butter on the buns as well. Give them a quick toast first, so you can assemble the smashburgers as everything comes off the grill!
Next up, throw on the portions of ground wagyu. With a sturdy spatula, smash each one into a thin patty (hence the name, if you didn’t figure that one out yet!). Season each with a pinch of Texas Beef. Flip when ready, and add a slice of cheese to all four.
When the patties are ready, quickly add some mustard and pickles on the bottom bun. Then stack two patties on top of each other, and move them on to the burger. And… that’s it. That’s all you need for a KILLER wagyu smash burger. Catch you on the next recipe!
