M.O.I.N.K. Balls

M.O.I.N.K. Balls

Meatballs, wrapped with bacon, then glazed with BBQ sauce... You know you are going to try these just by the name! Nobody would blame you, these beauties taste even more amazing than they look.

Main Ingredients

  • 24 frozen (1 oz size) Italian Beef meatballs, thawed
  • 12 strips thinly sliced bacon
  • Your favorite Kosmo's Q BBQ Seasoning/Rub
  • Toothpicks

    Glaze Ingredients

Take your pick from any one of these favorite Kosmos Q BBQ Sauces:

    • Sweet Apple Chipotle BBQ Sauce
    • Peach Habanero BBQ Sauce
    • Sweet Smoke BBQ Sauce
    • Honey Jalapeno BBQ Sauce
    • Competition BBQ Sauce

      The Prep

While you let the meatballs out to thaw, slice Bacon strips in half. Wrap half a bacon strip around each meatball (if you get/make larger meatballs, you might want to use a whole strip of bacon). Secure the bacon with a toothpick.

Now pick the wrapped meatball up by the toothpick, and season it with the BBQ rub of your preference - we used Dirty Bird Hot for that extra kick. Make sure to cover the meatball evenly.

      The Cook

Get the grill going at 275ºF (135ºC). Place the MOINK Balls over indirect heat, and check back on them in about 25 minutes. Cook them until the bacon starts to crisp up  (about 30-45 minutes total).

When bacon is crisp to your taste, put some of the BBQ sauce you love (we used Peach Habanero) in a bowl, and grab each MOINK ball by the toothpick to dunk them in the sauce. Then return them to the grill, and let the sauce set - or get tacky - for approximately 10 more minutes.

      The Payoff

Your MOINK balls are ready! Serve them to your family or guests, and watch their faces as they hungrily ask for more.
