Smokey Beans Recipe

Smokey Beans Recipe

Baked beans go with all BBQ, so why not make baked beans on the smoker? If you're looking for the best smokey beans recipe, look no further - you're gonna love this.

Another recipe by Matt Eppright of Thicc.n.Smokey, consistently coming up with instant favorites. Thank you for sharing Matt!

You Will Need

The Prep

If you love BBQ and baked beans, you're probably eating a lot of them. What this recipe aims for is a quick and easy way to cook your smoky beans with consistently great results.

Step one, as in any recipe, is prepping your ingredients. dice the sweet onion finely, measure out the sugar, rubs, and sauces, and open your can(s) of pork and beans. A little amount of prep work will make the rest of the cook smooth sailing.

The Cook

Time to fire her up! Preheat your grill/smoker to 275ºF (135ºC). Let it come up to temp, and make sure it stabilizes in that range.

Drain the can of beans, and add them to the pan. Then start adding the other ingredients, while stirring continuously. Once everything's completely incorporated into the beans, place the pan on the cooker.

The Payoff

Next, just let the smokey beans cook for 2-3 hours. Crack open a cold one, or go ahead an prepare whatever you'll be serving with your beans. After 2 hours, start checking on them. When the onions have softened and the sauce has thickened to your liking, your BBQ smoked beans are ready.
